I think it’s been a while since I’ve been thuroughly impressed by something someone has said or done. Everyone writes their myspace ‘about me’ exactly the same, never differing in the slightest from someone elses. They always sound the same and have the exact same ‘facts’.
- Girls don’t like me because I’m a ‘bitch’.
- I do photography.
- I’m unique.
- *Quote some song that’s popular*
But the sad truth is, you’re not unique. The chances are you dress just like every kid out there with the whole tight pants and band shirt thing and even the same hair. If you do photography like everybody else in our generation, then you’re not different and girls don’t like you not because you’re a self proclaimed bitch, but because you’re just like everybody else. And really, quoting a song, doesn’t make you cool, it just makes you good with google.
You think exactly like everybody around you and you’re so self absorbed in your own little world, you don’t take notice of anything or any body around you. I want someone to say ‘Ya know? I think today I want make a difference and go help out somewhere.’ I want somebody to say that something that will inspire me to do something different instead of spending my days consumed within my own little superficial world.
If we were all ‘unique’ as we claim to be, why do we all dress the same as each other and not do what makes us happy? I can understand we all want to fit in, but how is changing who we are completely helping us fit in? All it does is make us miserable. I want to meet that person who says fuck it and just goes around as they want to. If it’s long haired guys wearing polos and short haired girls wearing baggy jeans to the ‘popular’ type girls wearing ripped, ragged clothes and kissing other girls.
I either want to be that person or meet that person, but either way, I want to be inspired by someone or something, or be the one to inspire people to stop being the same. Because it’s sad that no matter how hard we try to be different, we end up like the person beside us, like a clone.
